Spiritual Schizos

A constant struggle for many Christians is being double minded.

Now, many think of this as saying one thing and doing another. You know, like saying you are against Playboy but you surf the net for porno.

But, the Bible deals specifically being double minded when it comes to our faith walk.

James 1:5-8 (New King James Version)5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. 6 But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. 7 For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; 8 he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.

Believers are living way below the benefits Jesus paid for us to have because we are double minded.

Too many of us are spiritual schizophrenics!

“Yes, Brother Mace, I believe the Bible says I am blessed and cannot be cursed.”

An attack happens and the same person says, “Everything always happens to me. I have no luck at all. I’m cursed.”

Well, which is it? Are you blessed or are you cursed?

“Brother Mace I am a fundamentalist. I believe everything the Bible says.”

Do you believe what Jesus said in Mark 16:17-18?

(New King James Version) 17 And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; 18 they[a] will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

“Uh, not so much.” Spiritual Schizoism.

Or they say, “I believe the Bible. Yes siree, I do. I even believe it when the Bible says by His stripes I am healed.”

But, when the doctor gives a bad report the words are schizophied, “I hope God heals me.”

Well, either you are healed or your not.

Faith agrees with the Word in spite of the circumstances.

Are you getting this?

Cast out that schizoid devil and become single minded in your faith.

The only mind you and I should have is the mind of Christ and friend; He has never spoken contrary to the Word yet!
