Rich In Mercy

You know we often think of God’s mercy extended to the lost. You know, to those that have been rebelling against God through sin and rejection.

However, we seem to have a problem sometimes seeing God offering mercy to the saved.

That is why the devil is so successful and getting Christians to feel condemned when they sin.

Now listen, I am not talking about unrepentant sin. I am talking about sin that has been confessed and forgiven.

Ephesians 2:1-5 (New King James Version) 1 And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, 2 in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, 3 among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others.4 But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, 5 even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),

Notice, God was and is rich in mercy. He was merciful to each and every one of us when we were yet sinners because he loved us.

Well, how much more merciful is He now to us who ARE NOW HIS CHILDREN?

Is your mercy less towards your children than it is towards your mailman?

It better not be!

If you are born again you are now a child of God. You are not some ol’ sinner saved by Grace.
No. That is not what the Bible says.

The Bible says you WERE a sinner but you ARE NOW THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD IN CHRIST JESUS!

“But, Mace I did something wrong this morning.”

What does the Word say to do?

1 John 1:9 (New King James Version)9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

You confess and He forgives.

It is that simple.

So, don’t let sin hinder your relationship with your Father. If you sin be quick to repent and get it under the cleansing blood of Jesus.
