Patience

We want immediate results when we are in a trial. We want to be able to drive into the drive thru line, place our prayer order, and get the answer within 5 minutes.

It usually doesn't work that way.

It is the devil that sends the trial. It is God who delivers us from the trial.

However, God will use the trial to make our faith grow. Part of the process of growth is patience.

James 1:2-4 (Amplified Bible)2Consider it wholly joyful, my brethren, whenever you are enveloped in or encounter trials of any sort or fall into various temptations. 3Be assured and understand that the trial and proving of your faith bring out endurance and steadfastness and patience. 4But let endurance and steadfastness and patience have full play and do a thorough work, so that you may be [people] perfectly and fully developed [with no defects], lacking in nothing.

Make no mistake. We are not joyful for the trial. The joy comes from knowing the God who is faithful to bring us through the trial.

The trial shows us where our faith is.

How we react with our words and deeds are indicators of our faith.

Our words faith filled when we get a bad report or fear filled?

Do our actions correspond with Bible faith or with the world system of doing things?

Patience is a pillar of faith. It holds faith up in the midst of the storm. Patience keeps faith from crumbling to the ground.

Patience increases as our faith increases. They go hand in hand.

Then the promise manifests and the joy is no longer a result of faith but of thankfulness and praise for the manifestation of the promise.
