As He Is So Are We

If we would only dare to believe what the Word says about us as believers we would never allow ourselves to be defeated by circumstances, symptoms, or any other attack of the enemy.

When we read what the Word says about us through eyes of faith it is amazing that much of the Church is defeated.

1 John 4:17 (King James Version) 17Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.
Why can we bold in our faith?

How can we possibly declare healing in the midst of symptoms?

How can we boldly tell a demon to leave without fear of failure?

How can we claim favor from God in every circumstance?

How can we expect to flow in the gifts of the Holy Ghost?

The answer is shocking but found in the last phrase of the above scripture: Because as he is, so are we in this world.

Stunning isn't it. Some of you may have had your denominational glasses knocked off but, nonetheless, it is true.

Not in the next life but in this world we are as He is!

"Mace, that is heresy. How can you say you or I are like Jesus?"

Because the Word says so to put it simply.

The truth is in our own right we are nothing like Christ. But, when we put our faith in His finished Work then God identifies us with His Son Jesus.

We are IN HIM!

He looks at you and sees Jesus.

And so does the devil.

The problem lies in that too many of us don't walk in the revelation of the Word. We walk by traditions or what we think.

Friend, if you are as He is , and by faith you are, then you are triumphant.

You are triumphant over the devil.

You are triumphant over sickness.

You are triumphant over the recession.

Because asHe is so you are!

So walk in the light of the scripture and start laying hands on the sick and expecting them to be whole.

Cast out devils!

Speak to the mountains!

Why?

Because as He is so are we in this world that believe.

Being A Victor And Not A Victim Part 7

The final key or step to being victorious in life is found in Ephesians 6:13.

Ephesians 6:13 (King James Version) 13Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

Every one of us, as long as we live on this earth, will have an evil day come upon us. However, if we employ the keys God has given us we will be victorious over that evil day.

When we have done all we can do in the natural realm it is time to stand.

"To Stand," as used here in the Greek is a military command. It means after having conquered all to stand and be ready for the next battle.

After we have followed God's plan to victory we then stand firmly planted as victors!

We stand firm in the foundation of the Word of God.

When one stands firmly in the Word they can't help but praise!

When the Word is your final authority you know that you know you cannot and will not be moved by any attack of the enemy.

You just stand in the strong comfort of the faithfulness of your God and raise your hands towards the heavens and boldly proclaim:

HOW GREAT IS MY GOD!

Being A Victor And Not A Victim Part 6

Last week we learned 5 of 7 keys to being a victor in life. To recap they were:

1. Know your enemy

2. Know your enemy is a defeated foe

3. Be Persistent

4. Use The Name of Jesus

5. Use the Sword of the Spirit: The Word of God

Today, we will look at another tool the Lord has given the believer to be a victor in life.

Today we are going to be talking about the power of praying in tongues. Every believer that has been baptized in the Holy Ghost has a supernatural prayer language available to them.

This is praying in tongues.

Immediately after reviewing the full armor of God in Ephesians 6 the Holy Spirit tells the believer to pray in the Spirit.

Ephesians 6:18 (King James Version) 18Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit,

Then in Jude the Holy Spirit tells us that we build ourselves up when we pray in the Spirit.

Jude 1:20 (King James Version) 20But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,

"But, Mace that it is talking about praying in the Spirit. What does that have to do with praying in tongues?"

Good question. Let's let the Word answer that.

1 Corinthians 14:14 (New King James Version)14 For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my understanding is unfruitful.

When you pray in tongues you are praying in the Spirit. The Word is plain about that.

1 Corinthians 14:2 (New King James Version)2 For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries.

When we pray in tongues we build ourselves up supernaturally and we pray God's perfect will.

The Holy Spirit, who is God, helps our spirit pray when we pray in tongues. Many times praying in tongues will prepare you for a future battle.

Other times you may be praying for someone you have no way of knowing in the natural.

You may never know in the natural what you are praying in tongues.

But, the Holy Ghost knows. He strategically directs your prayers when you pray in tongues.

Praying in tongues is a powerful tool the Lord has made available to His Church to bring revelation, to edify, to build up, and to pray Divine revelation.

It's up to you to be baptized in the Holy Ghost by faith and then by faith pray in tongues.

God Is Good!

You know, I wonder sometimes if we don’t take the gifts of God for granted.

I am almost certain that we do.

Yes, we thank Him for the miracle but what about daily provision?

He is responsible for every good thing in our lives. He may use a person to get the blessing to us but He is the source.

James 1:17 (King James Version) 17Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.


He is responsible for your raise at work.

He is responsible for your new car.
He is responsible for the discount you got on those school clothes.

He is responsible for putting the right person in your path to help you get the answer you have been searching for.

He is responsible for your home .

He is responsible for your church home.

He is responsible for that stranger whose smile lifted you up that one sad day.

He is responsible for all that is good in your life.

Raise your hands to His Throne and Give Him praise!

Go To Church

The devil has deceived too many Christians, to their detriment, that they don't need to go to church.

True, church attendance does not save you but it is what saved people do.

Jesus was a Church goer.

Luke 4:16 (King James Version) 16And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day

Notice, Jesus' custom was to go to the synagogue. Shouldn't it be our custom to go to church too?

Every believer needs a Pastor. A Pastor serves in the office of Under-Shepherd under the Lord Jesus Christ. He is responsible for feeding the flock assigned to him

You have a Pastor assigned to you that is supposed to be feeding you the Word, guiding you, and protecting you from wolves.

1 Peter 5:2 (King James Version) 2Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly;

How is he going to feed you the Word if you don't go to Church?

"Mace, I get fed on my own."

Well, then the Lord sure got it wrong when He instituted the Church and Pastors didn't He?

Of course, not!

It is the Lord who gave the five fold ministry to the Church as a gift.

Ephesians 4:11-12 (King James Version) 11And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; 12For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

Now, maybe you are the only member in the Body of Christ that doesn't need a Pastor but I think you may be wrong if you think you don't.

YOU NEED A PASTOR!

You and I also need the power that comes from praying corporately and being united in faith with a local body of believers. This is why the Holy Spirit through Paul commanded us not to forsake church.

"Mace, I don't need to go to church. I can just watch it on TV?"

Hebrews 10:25 (Amplified Bible)25Not forsaking or neglecting to assemble together [as believers], as is the habit of some people, but admonishing (warning, urging, and encouraging) one another, and all the more faithfully as you see the day approaching.

There is a local body waiting for you.

You are needed.

You are needed as much as you need.

"But, Mace I work Sunday mornings."

Friend, for 2 years I drove 56 miles every Sunday night and Wednesdays to go to Church. Why? Because I worked Sunday mornings and I needed to be fed good spiritual food by my Pastor.

How big is your "want to"?

The Holy Spirit will lead you to the right place and plant you.

The devil will give you excuses and reasons not to go.

The Holy Spirit will yield to the excuses if you want Him too. The Holy Spirit is a gentleman, after all.

But, you will only be hurting yourself.

Oh, and the Church that is counting on you to fill the role only you can fill.

Get planted in a good Bible believing Church that lets the Holy Spirit have His way.

You will never be the same.

Safety

If you are a believer living in fear then the devil has you deceived.

Fear is faith perverted and is the devil's domain.

He will attack all of your senses to get your eyes off of the promises of God and onto the lies of Satan.

He will attack your emotions with thoughts from past mistakes to get your eyes clouded with guilt so you can't see the promises of forgiveness.

He will whisper in your ear, "You didn't do right in school 20 years ago and now you are stuck in this dead end job. It will never change."

He will shout at the first sneeze, "You have swine flue."

FRIEND, ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!

Proverbs 18:10 (King James Version) 10The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.

We have been given the Name of Jesus! Shout it at the lies of the devil!

Get mad at the devil and his lies. Attack Him with the Name of Jesus.

As you proclaim the Name of Jesus over every attack of the devil walls of protection go up around you.

The devil tries to sneak in behind with a sucker punch you cry out "Jesus!" and a protective wall goes up!

Circumstances try to creep in from the sides you cry out "Jesus!" another wall goes up!

The Name of the Lord is your strong tower! It is a supernatural fortress which no demon from hell can penetrate!

Run into it for there you are safe from every single stinking, smelly, deceitful attack of the devil.

Time To Grow Up

There is a major problem if your 20 year old son still wears diapers, has a pacifier in his mouth, and needs you to bathe him.

He should be a mature young man by 20, correct?

Friend, the same is true for us spiritually.

Too many of us are in the same state as we were when we were first born again.

We haven'te grown spiritually and we haven't recieved any new revelation from the Word.

Hebrews 5:12-14 (King James Version) 12For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat. 13For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. 14But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

The Christian life should be one of constant spiritual growth and revelation.

The only way you and I grow spiritually is to consistently feed on the Word of God through the reading of the Word, speaking the Word, hearing the Word preached, and acting on the Word.

As we do this the Holy Spirit will give us fresh revelation about the Word and how to apply it to our daily lives.

As we grow in the Word our faith grows and then we are able to reach down and pull up those that are babies in the Lord.

We are able to teach them and then they will do the same as they mature.

It is time for us to quit being spiritual babies and to grow up.

He Is Willing

Some of you have done some terrible things in your past. I dare say everyone reading this has.

I know I have.

Yet, since then you have made Jesus the Lord of your life and are a new creature IN HIM. Even for those of you that have missed the mark, which is what sin is, since being born again, if you repented the blood of Jesus has washed you white as snow.

Still the devil holds you in bondage to that thing...to that memory.

You are afraid to come to your heavenly Father to request your need be met out of fear.

You fear rejection.

You fear His wrath.

Fear is faith perverted.

Jesus came across a leper one day. Lepers were outcast from society. They had no human contact.

They had no one to hug their neck and tell them all was well.

Leprosy was a type of sin. Sin will make you an outcast from the family of God.

Even when forgiven the devil will try and destroy you with memories and feelings of guilt.

Well, back to Jesus and the Leper...when the leper came to Jesus did Jesus kick his teeth in?

No!

Did He say, "Get away from me because you are unclean!"?

No!

Matthew 8:1-3 (King James Version) 1When he was come down from the mountain, great multitudes followed him. 2And, behold, there came a leper and worshipped him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean. 3And Jesus put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.

Jesus, the Lord of mercy and compassion, touched the untouchable and made Him whole.

Praise the Lord!

Friend, not only is the Lord able He is willing to touch you today. Run to Him.

He has already made you clean with His blood at the Cross.

Quit listening to the devil. Instead remind yourself who you are IN CHRIST and what you have IN CHRIST.

Now you are ready to come boldly to the Throne of Grace and appropriate your forgiveness, your healing, your prosperity, your peace and anything else you thought you were unworthy to have.

You are worthy!

His blood makes you worthy!

Mix It Up

Imagine that a man has been bitten by a rattle snake and the venom is running through his veins. Yet, sitting on a table is the antidote.

The man knows all he has to do is take the antidote and he will be made well. His mind is well aware that all has to do is open the medicine bottle, take the medicine and he will live.

Yet, he doesn't do it and dies.

Sounds crazy doesn't it.

Isn't that what we do with the Bible many times? In our heads we acknowledge that the Bible is the written Word of God. But, we don't have heart faith.

We mentally ascent to the Word but have no faith in our heart. This stops the promises of God from manifesting in our lives.

Hebrews 4:1-2 (New King James Version) 1 Therefore, since a promise remains of entering His rest, let us fear lest any of you seem to have come short of it. 2 For indeed the gospel was preached to us as well as to them; but the word which they heard did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in those who heard it.

The Word of God will only profit us when mixed with faith.

Faith acts.

Faith tithes expecting the windows of heaven to open up and pour out a blessing upon the tither.

Malachi 3:10 (King James Version) 10Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.

Faith lays hands on the sick and EXPECTS them to recover.

Mark 16:18 (King James Version) ... they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

Faith speaks to the mountains in your life and casts them to the sea.

Mark 11:23 (King James Version) 23For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

Develop your faith by daily reading the Word, speaking the Word over the circumstances, and acting on the Word.

Do this and the Word will profit you, my friend.

Enter In

The deliverance of Israel from Egypt was a type of the deliverance of the believer.

Israel was held in bondage by an evil dictator in Pharaoh. Through signs and wonders they were delivered by Moses and told to enter into the Promised Land.

Israel was a type of the Church.

Pharaoh was a type of Satan.

Moses was a type of Christ.

The Promised Land was a type of the believer's life in Christ. Some teach it was a type of heaven but this could not be because there are no giants in heaven.

Jesus has totally delivered us from the clutches of Satan and has told us to enter into the Promised Land by faith.

However, like many of the Israelites many will not enter into their promised land because of unbelief.

Hebrews 3:16-19 (King James Version)16For some, when they had heard, did provoke: howbeit not all that came out of Egypt by Moses. 17But with whom was he grieved forty years? was it not with them that had sinned, whose carcases fell in the wilderness? 18And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that believed not? 19So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.

Thank God for salvation. That is the ultimate benefit of our New Covenant cut with the blood of Jesus.

If you are a believer you have entered into eternal life. Praise the Lord!

However, the blood of Jesus paid for so much more.

The blood of Jesus has paid for your healing, your prosperity, and your peace.

The blood of Jesus has paid for your favor with God and man.

The blood of Jesus has paid for you to use the Name of Jesus to cast out devils, lay hands on the sick and they will be healed, and to speak in Tongues.

The blood of Jesus has paid for you to have peace of mind, strength, and joy.

"Mace, I don't have any of that."

Let's look again at Hebrews 3:19 in the Amplified Bible, Hebrews 3:19 (Amplified Bible)19So we see that they were not able to enter [into His rest], because of their unwillingness to adhere to and trust in and rely on God [unbelief had shut them out].

If we are not entering completely into our Promised Land let us check our faith.

Unbelief will shut you out of healing, joy, peace, the gifts of the Spirit, prosperity and so on.

Dare to believe the Word for what it says and enter in. Forget your religious tradition and quit looking at the Word with denominational eyes.

Just Dare to Believe the Word means what it says and take possession of the Promised Land in totality.

Enter in, friend, enter in.

Get Violent

We are at war!

We are at war with devil, his demons and all of his satanic plans.

The devil and his crew do not play nice.

It is time to get violent with your faith!

Jesus described this in the Book of Matthew.

Matthew 11:12 (Amplified Bible)12And from the days of John the Baptist until the present time, the kingdom of heaven has endured violent assault, and violent men seize it by force [as a precious prize--a share in the heavenly kingdom is sought with most ardent zeal and intense exertion].

I am a former Marine and I remember learning about the battle of Iwo Jima. 30, 000 Marines stormed the island and fought 35 days.

Friend, sometimes your victory doesn't come over night. You have to fight it through!

Almost seven thousand Marines were killed and over nineteen thousand were wounded. Thank God the Marines didn't quit but they fought until victory was ensured.

The victory helped to lift the spirits of the American people that had grown weary and unsure of the outcome of World War II.

Friend, you must seize the promises of God with tenacity and spiritual violence.

No, you are not seizing them from God. He is not the one withholding the promises from you.

It is the devil!

You are tenacious and violent towards the devil that is trying to prevent you from obtaining the promises of God.

Don't quit!

Keep attacking with the Word of God!

Keep speaking the Word at the circumstances!

If you falter get back up, dust yourself off and move forward!

Never quit! Never back down!

Victory is yours in the Name of Jesus Christ!

Nothing Is Too Small For God

God cares so very much for you. You are something special to Him.

"But, Mace you don't know the things I have done."

If you have repented neither does God.
Hebrews 10:16-18 (King James Version) 16This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; 17And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more. 18Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.
Isn't that awesome!

He care about every little detail in your life. Nothing is to small for your heavenly Father.

I had a dog named Buddy that I loved very much. Still do. When he was sick I would lay hands on him and pray over him just like I would any person.

Why? Because I knew God cared about Buddy because God cared about me. Praise God!

Matthew 10:29-31 (King James Version) 29Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father. 30But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. 31Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.

Doesn't it just makes sense that if God cares enough about the details of your life to number your hairs that nothing would be to small for Him?

Your dreams, desires, and hopes are not insignificant to your Father in heaven. In fact, many of them are in your heart because He put them there.

So, I encourage you to run to your Father with every issue and concern you may have. He loves you so much that He is waiting for you to come to Him now.

Finish Your Course

You have a course to run.

Your life has been planned by God from beginning until the end.

However, we don't always follow His plan do we?

No, we allow the cares of this world, trials, and the devil to distract us.

But, thank God we can repent, plead the blood and get right back on course.

The devil knows God has great plans for your life and he wants to stop it.

In fact, he will do his best to kill you.

He will achieve that goal if you let him. It is up to you to use the Word as a Sword and to slice and dice every stinking attack that he throws your way.

Hold On!

If you have lived for more than thirty seconds you know that the devil will do his best to knock you down and out.

As long as you take breath on planet earth trials and tribulations will come.

"Brother Mace, that sure is a bad confession."

It is a true confession. However, it is not the end of the confession.

Yes, trials may come but the Lord will see you through every single one. You will come through them not a defeated foe, not a spiritual cripple and not a loser.

You will enter in, pass through, and arrive on the other side a total victor in Christ Jesus.

That is, if you hold on to the Word.

2 Timothy 1:13 (New King James Version) 13 Hold fast the pattern of sound words which you have heard from me, in faith and love which are in Christ Jesus.

This is why it is important to read the Word everyday. When you do this you are strengthening your innerman and preparing for the day the devil tries to destroy you.

This is why it is important to have a Pastor. You need a Pastor. Not someone on TV. No, you need to belong to a local body.

A Pastor feeds and protects the sheep. A Word spoken from your Pastor could be the cornerstone you cling to in that troubled day.

This is why you must be sensitive to the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit will give you a Word to stand on and to use against the onslaught of Satan and demons.

Hold fast to the Word. Speak it to the storm and watch the Sword of The Spirit slash the lies of the enemy to shreds.

Who's In Control Part 4

We have seen the devil is in control of this earth until Christ's return.

We have learned that he is the force behind all disease, calamities, death and destruction on this earth.

"It sure seems hopeless. I guess I will have to wait until I get to heaven before I see the fruits of Jesus' sacrifice."

Far too many of us have this wrong thinking.

The devil is in control of the world system.

However, the believer is in control of his or her life and the realm they live in.

You see, when Jesus died on the cross and rose from the dead He took His rightful place as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

He then delegated that authority to the believer.

Read carefully Mark 16:17-18.

Mark 16:17-18 (King James Version) 17And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; 18They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover

Do these words from our Lord Jesus sound like He expects the Church to be weak and powerless against a supernatural foe?

Of course not!

We are to attack all the works of the devil not just with head knowledge but with the revelation of the Name of Jesus!

The Name is supernatural!

Jesus expects the Church to do what He did and even greater works.

John 14:12 (King James Version) 12Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

Do you realize the power behind this statement? Jesus healed the sick, raised the dead, walked on water, turned water into wine, cast out demons and so much more.

Yet, He said those that believe would do the same and EVEN GREATER WORKS.

What was the qualification? To believe.

Is that you?

Yes, you believe in salvation but what about everything else Jesus said a believer has and can do?

Faith takes action.

It's your choice to act in faith and lay hands on the sick and call them healed in Jesus Name.

It's your choice to speak to that demon and command him to leave that tormented soul alone.

It's your choice to pray in tongues.

You see, God is ultimately in control of all because He has a plan for man that will ultimately be fulfilled.

But, you are in control of your life and destiny in Christ. It is up to you to reach out in faith and take hold of the promises or you can choose to stay in your spiritual comfort zone and do nothing for yourself, the Body of Christ, or a hurting world.

Who's in control?

Who's In Control Part 3

Yesterday, we learned about Adam selling out the human race to Satan in the Garden of Eden.

Thank God we also learned that Jesus totally defeated Satan at the Cross and took back the authority Adam lost.

However, the question remains why is there so much destruction, despair, and hopelessness on this earth if Satan is defeated.

The answer is simple. Satan is still the god of this world. He still has authority over the unsaved.

"I thought you said Jesus took that authority back."

I did and He did.

You see, the moment we accept Christ as our Savior we are IN HIM.

IN HIM we operate in a totally different kingdom than the world does.

We have been translated out of Satan's kingdom into God's kingdom. Praise God!

The believer has authority over his or her domain. Where you feet step on this planet is God's Kingdom becuase you are there.

Where you are is where Christ is!

The devil has no authority over you or your realm of influence.

Unless you give it to him through unbelief, unrepentant sin, or lack of Bible knowledge.

IN HIM, you are in control because Jesus has given you control. The problem comes when you don't know what you have in the way of authority through Jesus Christ.

IN HIM you are not a victim of circumstances.

IN HIM you don't have to wonder if God heard your prayers.

IN HIM you don't have live in fear wondering if God is going to do what He said He would do.

IN HIM you have the power to do something.

IN HIM you have authority to lay hands on the sick and they will recover.

IN HIM you have authority over demon powers.

It's IN HIM, IN HIM, IN HIM all IN HIM!!!

Who's In Control Part 2

Satan is the god of this world. He is in control.

For now.

Christ is coming soon and will cast Satan into the pit for a thousand years and then into the Lake of Fire.

However, Satan is in control for now.

When you read a story about some woman that killed her baby Satan was behind it.

When you hear of genocide taking place in parts of the world Satan is behind it.

When you read of rape, child abuse, or spousal abuse Satan is behind it.

Cancer, AIDS, autism, arthritis, swine flu and every other disease known to man is a result of Satan's rule over this earth.

He has blinded the world to his role to the point where some don't even know he exists.

2 Corinthians 4:3-5 (King James Version) 3But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: 4In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. 5For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake.

Instead, he turns people's accusations, even some of the church's, against God.

"Why did God kill that Baby?"

"I guess God put this cancer on me to teach me something by suffering."

I have enough sense not to throw my kid in front of a passing bus and proclaim, "Ha! Now you have learned to look both ways."

Do we think God teaches with cruelty? NO! It is the devil!

Jesus came to give you and I the abundant life. The devil came to steal, kill, and destroy.

Is someone suffering from cancer living the abundant life? No, it is from the devil!

Yes, Satan is in control of this world. But, we are not of this world!

Praise God, we have been given the name of Jesus to cast the cancer out! (Mark 16:18)

Praise Him, we have been given the Name of Jesus to cast that demon out that is oppressing a loved one's mind!

The devil is in control of the world.

Who's In Control part 1

"Mace, God is in control of everything. After all, He is God."

If one were to disagree with this statement many would call that person guilty of heresy.

But, the truth is God is not in control of this world.

I will give you a few moments to pick yourself up off of the floor before I continue...ok, let's see what the Word says.

First, let me state unequivocally that God is God and can do whatever He wants to. However, He gave dominion of this earth to Adam. Adam, through sin, committed high treason and gave the authority of this earth to Satan.

Man gave Satan full reign over planet earth which is why God needed a man to take that authority back. That man was Jesus Christ.

Praise God.

In the Gospels we see Satan's rulership over this planet confirmed in the temptation of Jesus.

Matthew 4:8-10 (King James Version)8Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; 9And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me. 10Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

If the kingdoms of this world were not Satan's to give then it would not be a temptation would it?

Thank God Jesus took that authority from Satan by shedding His blood at Calvary's Cross!

Revelation 1:18 (Amplified Bible)18And the Ever-living One [I am living in the eternity of the eternities]. I died, but see, I am alive forevermore; and I possess the keys of death and Hades (the realm of the dead).

Jesus took back the authority the devil had stolen from Adam. Jesus, the second Adam, totally and completely defeated the devil.

"Well, how come there is so much suffering and chaos on this earth if Jesus took His authority back?"

Don't Quench The Spirit

The Holy Spirit through Paul gave the Church a series of command in his first letter to the Thessalonians.

One is a very simple command yet more and more not heeded.

1 Thessalonians 5:19 (Amplified Bible)19Do not quench (suppress or subdue) the [Holy] Spirit;
I submit to you in all boldness that far too many of us as individuals and churches quench the Holy Spirit.

We have become so regimented in our services that the movement of the Holy Spirit has little place, if any at all.

After all, we have to be out of service in forty-five minutes or we go stir crazy.

We have to beat the crowd to Luby's so we can sit for two hours and feed our faces.

I am being facetious of course but that is not to far from the truth.

What causes us to quench the Spirit?

1) Religion - The devil has done a fine job of replacing the gifts of the Spirit with dignified religion. Too many of us have ripped 1 Corinthians Chapters 12-14 from our Bibles and have ignored the words of JESUS in Mark 16:16-18. Put 'em back and live them out.

2) Tradition - "We don't do that kind of service here." Friend, we have to give the Holy Spirit free reign in our lives and in our Church services. The Church in the Book of Acts would be unwelcome in many circles today because they were to radical and a bunch of Holy Rollers. Friend, those radicals shook the world.

3) Fear - When we yield to the movement of the Holy Spirit we are giving up the Lordship of our lives to Him. Sometimes He may have you prophesy for the edification of the Church or just receive a blessing. Whatever it is you must not be afraid of what people think or how you feel. Just yield to the Holy Spirit.

4) Lack of Teaching - Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. We should not be ignorant of nor ignore the Holy Spirit. The Word is plain how He operates and that He confirms the Word with supernatural manifestations. Pastors need to teach the people and we need to take it upon ourselves to read the Word and learn about the third person of the Godhead.

Don't quench the Spirit. He wants to bless you and the Church through you.

How will He do that if you don't let Him?

God Takes Pleasure In Your Prosperity

Let's settle it once and for all.

God doesn't want you broke and walking down barely get along street.

He takes pleasure in your prosperity.

"How do you know?"

Well, the Word says so.

The devil has used religion to hold far too many of God's people in financial bondage.

Before you can prosper you have to believe God wants you to prosper. The Word is plain in stating to you and I that God finds pleasure when we prosper.

God's prosperity plan is a plan of purpose.

The purpose of prosperity is to meet your needs, your family's needs, and to fund the Gospel.

"Mace, I don't have the education to be prosperous. I wasn't born with a silver spoon in my mouth."

Well, thank God when you were born again you gained access to spoons of gold!

God will tell you how to prosper.

The Holy Spirit and the Word will lead you into your path of abundant supply.

The Rapture

Friend, if you want to know what the future holds you don't need astrology, the psychic hotline, nor to pay some fool in a trailer on the side of the road.

All of those are demonic so stay away from them.

However, you do have the Bible and it tells us a great deal about where we came from, where we are and where we are going.

1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 (New King James Version) 13 But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. 14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus.15 For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. 16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. 18 Therefore comfort one another with these words.

The day is coming very soon when the trump is going to sound and we will meet our loved ones who have gone before us in the air with Christ.

This is the rapture. After this momentous event the antichrist will try and destroy Israel once and for all.

Notice, I said he would "try."

After seven years of tribulation Christ will not just come to the atmosphere but He will actually return to planet earth with all His saints and stomp the devil's head in!

Pain will be gone.

Recession Proof

One would have to either be a fool or dishonest to say the world is not going through a recession or even a depression.

However, that doesn't mean you have to participate.

You see, if you are a blood bought child of the most High God your economy is not dependent upon the world's economy.

It is dependent only upon God's Word and His principals.

There is no need for you, as a believer, to panic or let the doomsayers shake your faith.

Just stand on the Word!

Psalm 34:9-10 (King James Version) 9O fear the LORD, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him. 10The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing.

Either God's Word is true or it isn't. If it is, and it is, then can have confidence that what the Word says you will have you will have.

1. You will not want. Praise God. You stand on that promise. When the devil tries to rub your nose in circumstances you give it back to him good, "Devil. I am a saint of the Lord. There is no want in my life because the Word says so and that settles it. So get out of the way of my prosperity!

2. You shall not want any good thing. Poverty is not good. Not having home, a job, a nice car, good clothes, an abundant supply of money, and not enjoying life are not good things.

God wants you to have good things!

Get that settled in your spirit.

He wants you to have a good job with good benefits.

He wants you to have a nice car that doesn't break down every two days.

He wants you to have nice clothes, a nice home your family is secure in.

He wants you to live better than the rich drug dealer in his fancy home bought with the devil's money.

You just have to receive by faith. Take God at His Word and walk through every open door that comes your way.

And praise Him every step of the way!

The devil will come along and whisper in your ear "You are all alone."

God's Program For Church Growth

Christian magazine after Christian magazine contains ads boasting the latest church growth program.

Mainly they take secular business growth models and incorporate them into a church setting.

The truth is the most effective strategy for growing the Church is found in the Bible.

It is preaching the Word with signs and wonders following to confirm the Word.

We read in the book of Acts the following.

Acts 5:14 (King James Version) 14And believers were the more added to the Lord, multitudes both of men and women.)

What caused multitudes of men and women to be added to the Church?

Was it a slick slogan?

Was it a seeker sensitive message?

Was it a food and clothing program?

Let's go back a few scriptures and see what led to this great growth.

Acts 5:12 (King James Version) 12And by the hands of the apostles were many signs and wonders wrought among the people

It was the Word being confirmed with signs and wonders.

"But, Mace that was only Apostles that God used to do miracles."

That is not what the Bible says.

Over and over we have looked at Mark 16:17-18 where Jesus said a sign of a believer would be speaking in tongues, casting out devils and the LAYING ON OF HANDS to heal the sick. Those are His words.

He did not say it was only Apostles. Only believers.

A perfect example of this is Stephen. He was not a disciple. He was not even in the five-fold ministry.

Look what the Bible says about this layman.

Acts 6:8 (King James Version) 8And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people.

He was full of faith and power. The power came from the Baptism in the Holy Spirit.

If we want our church's to grow and reach a lost world we must preach the Word with boldness and power and expect God to confirm the Word with signs following.

The world is waiting for us.

The Name with Signs and Wonders Following!

“Mace, how come we don’t see any great miracles at our church?”

This question is asked in one fashion or another time and time again.

Now, before I go further I want to address something.
Some of you reading this will say, “I don’t need all of that hocus pocus stuff. I am saved and that is all I need.”

Little darlin’, I am glad you are saved but there is a lost, sighing and crying world out there that needs Jesus. Jesus, the Head of the Church, has given us His Name to use to reach the world with signs and wonders following (Mark 16:16-18).

The supernatural flow that comes from using His Name is not hocus-pocus.

It is the power of God manifest!

I dare say the reason we don’t see miracles happening more is because many of us are not taught the authority of the Believer in the Name of Jesus.

Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God.

If you are not hearing it preached from the pulpit faith is not coming.

It’s going.

The sick of this world are waiting for someone to lay hands on them and healing to flow into their bodies in the Name of Jesus.

The tormented are waiting for someone to take authority over demons and cast them out in the Name of Jesus.

Why signs and wonders?

They confirm that Jesus is Lord.

They confirm the Word of God.

Mark 16:20 (King James Version) And they went forth, and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them, and confirming the Word with signs following. Amen.

Signs and wonders should be a vital part of the believer and church’s life.

Don’t sell the Name of Jesus short and don’t sell yourself short by refusing to follow the Lord’s plan of reaching the lost and confirming the power of the Name of Jesus.

The Name

The Believer has been given power of attorney by Jesus Christ.

Mark 16:16-18 clearly shows that the Lord Jesus has given every believer His Name to use to speak in tongues, cast out devils, survive attacks of the devil, and to heal the sick.

How it must sadden and anger Him that so many refuse to reach a hurting world with His Name out of fear of what others will think, religion, and just plain unbelief that His Name would bring about what He said it would.

In the Acts 3 we read about Peter and John who were on their way to the temple and they came across a crippled beggar.

The man was born crippled. He had never walked a day in his life.

When Peter and John came across his path he asked them for money.

Acts 3:4-8 (New King James Version)4 And fixing his eyes on him, with John, Peter said, “Look at us.” 5 So he gave them his attention, expecting to receive something from them. 6 Then Peter said, “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.” 7 And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up, and immediately his feet and anklebones received strength. 8 So he, leaping up, stood and walked and entered the temple with them—walking, leaping, and praising God.

“Oh, but that is Peter.”

Remember, Jesus said in Mark 16:16-18 the only prerequisite was to be a believer.

Don’t you think He meant what He said?

If Peter had worried about what people might think that beggar would have died a beggar.

Thank God he was bold in his faith.

“Well, how come we don’t see that kind of thing now?”

Friend, I have seen the miraculous with my own eyes when the Name of Jesus was used in faith.

However, a large segment sees no miracles because they are not speaking the Name of Jesus in faith, if at all.

It is the Name!

Dare to believe the Name will do exactly what Jesus said it would do!

Dare to act on the Word in faith!

A miracle is waiting to happen in the Name of Jesus.

Quit refusing to act on what Jesus has given you and I out of fear or religious tradition.

A hurting world is dying while waiting for someone to bring the Name of Jesus to them and heal their sick bodies, save their lost spirits, and cast out the demons that hold them in bondage.

Getting In The Way Of God's Grace

Thank God for his Grace.

Yes, we sing about it, we talk about it, but do we truly understand it?

It is the Grace of God that gives the Christian victory over the world, the flesh and the devil.

It is the Grace of God that heals our body and mind.

It is the Grace of God that brings us prosperity.

What is Grace? It God's favor. It is as Pastor John Greiner describes it, "Being endowed with special advantage for success."

Through the Cross of Christ, through faith in His finished work we are endowed with special supernatural advantage for success.

But, you and I can thwart the Grace of God.

Galatians 2:21 (King James Version) 21I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.

When we put our faith in law we thwart the Grace of God.

When we create laws we thwart the Grace of God.

"Mace, how do I create a law?"

It's simple. Christians do it all of the time.

For instance, you may think or believe something along the lines of, "If I just read my Bible more I know I will have victory."

You just created a law.

Or "If I attend church 3 times a week I know I will be healed.

You just created a law.

A law says you must do something to achieve God's blessing.

We don't receive Grace by law. We receive Grace simply by having faith in the finished work of Christ.

We are saved by faith, we walk by faith, and we receive by faith.

So quit wearing yourself out by trying to earn the Grace of God.

It is yours simply by receiving it by faith.

God Wants You Delivered

Did you know God wants you delivered?

Well, He does.

He does not want you in bondage to anything, nothing, nada.

He wants you free from disease, sin, poverty, depression and any other attack of the devil.

How do I know?

The Word tells us so.

Galatians 1:3-4 (Amplified Bible)3Grace and spiritual blessing be to you and [soul] peace from God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah), 4Who gave (yielded) Himself up [[a]to atone] for our sins [and [b]to save and sanctify us], in order to rescue and deliver us from this present wicked age and world order, in accordance with the will and purpose and plan of our God and Father—

It is God’s will, purpose, and plan for you to be rescued and delivered from this wicked age and world order.

The world’s order is one of disease, selfishness, death, and hatred, doing it to your buddy before he does it to you, oppression and fear.

God wants you delivered from all that junk.

In fact, in Christ you are delivered.

You don’t have to participate in all that garbage.

Just because there is a recession in the land doesn’t mean you have to participate.

You live in a different Kingdom with a different King.

Yes, you may live on this earth but your citizenship is in heaven.

By faith resist all of the garbage of this world and hide away In Christ.

Then when others see you prosperous, healthy and happy while the world is going to pot you can tell them, “I serve King Jesus. He takes care of my every need. He is not dependant on economic indicators. He is Lord over the economy. Wouldn’t you like to know Jesus too?”

Change

The children of Israel were to have a blessed Covenant relationship with God.

Through their relationship they could have had peace, prosperity and health.

However, over and over we read of them turning away from God.

Instead of seeking refuge in Jehovah they sought refuge elsewhere.

They mingled with those the Lord had told them not to.

They rebelled and suffering ensued.

The great Prophet Isaiah prophesied the following:

Isaiah 30:1-3 (New King James Version) 1 “Woe to the rebellious children,” says the LORD, “Who take counsel, but not of Me, And who devise plans, but not of My Spirit, That they may add sin to sin; 2 Who walk to go down to Egypt, And have not asked My advice, To strengthen themselves in the strength of Pharaoh, And to trust in the shadow of Egypt! 3 Therefore the strength of Pharaoh Shall be your shame, And trust in the shadow of Egypt Shall be your humiliation.

When I recently read these scriptures the Holy Spirit proclaimed to me this is what is happening in America today.

We have come to depend upon the Government or the President to be our God. We expect them to meet our needs.

We have replaced God with politicians.

Friend, every need has been met through Jesus Christ.

Every thing you need can be appropriated by faith in the finished work.

Let us pray that the Church will have a revival and that our nation will have a great Awakening.

God is our only hope.

If we think we can vote morality and prosperity into this country we are wrong.

Only Jesus can bring about the change we need.

If you really want change then go to Jesus!

He will change you!

He will change your circumstances!

He will change your life!

Warfare

Nothing can come against you that you cannot have victory over.

Jesus, our Lord and Master, has defeated every enemy we will face at the Cross.

The problem comes in us enforcing that victory.

Yes, the war is won but the battle of faith will rage until Christ returns.

The devil will attack your thoughts and your beliefs. He will attack you in your mind and your flesh.

He will do his best to get you to accept that parts of the Word are not true.

He will use symptoms in your body to get your faith away from healing and onto dying.

He will use circumstances to steal your peace.

He will always use the natural realm to attack you. He is smart enough to know that if he can get you to focus on the natural you will not use the supernatural weapon the Lord has given you to gain the victory.

Well, I declare him to be wrong!

2 Corinthians 10:4-5 (King James Version) 4(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) 5Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

The Word of God is our sword. It is the sword of the Spirit. We use it to chop down our enemy into little bitty pieces.

We enforce the victory with our faith filled words!

Anything that comes against the Word or tries to contradict the Word cannot stand.

Thoughts from the enemy must be cast down with the Word of God.

If the Word says one thing and the thought says another cast the thought down and replace it with the Word.

Speak out the Word from your mouth.

Don’t just think it but speak it.

This does two things:
1. It builds your own faith since faith comes by hearing the Word.
2. It releases your faith.

Jesus said to speak to the mountain in Mark 11:22-24.

He did not say think about the mountain.

Speak the Word!

The Word reigns!

Don’t accept circumstances contrary to the Word.

Speak the Word against the circumstances. The Word changes the circumstances.

Defeat, disease, fear, and any other ungodly thought cannot stand against the Word of God or the child of God.

Unless you let it by contradicting the God's Word with your words and doubt and unbelief.

The Powerful Name Of Jesus

We have all heard them. We have all heard the religious sounding prayers at Thanksgiving or family reunions that sound like this:

“Gracious heavenly Father, we thank thee for (fill in the blank) and we ask thee for (fill in the blank). We ask these things in the Name of Jesus.”

There is nothing wrong with that prayer. I just wonder if we really know and understand what it means when we petition the Father in the Name of Jesus.

For too many of us it is just part of a religious exercise.

Oh, how we need the power of that Name in these times.

Jesus said, John 16:33 (King James Version) 33These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

Most of the time we focus on the latter part of this scripture. We focus on Jesus telling us to be of good cheer because He has overcome the world.

Look closely at the first part of the scripture.

33These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace.

Obviously, Jesus has just spoken some things that would enable us to have peace in a trouble world.

In order to see what those things are we need to look back and see what He said.

John 16:23-24 (King James Version) 23And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you. 24Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.

We pray to the Father and not to Jesus.

When we pray in the Name of Jesus we will receive what we pray for.

That is what Jesus said isn’t it?

Two things are key:
1) The petition must be in line with the Word
2) It must be asked in faith

Do you see the power in the Name of Jesus? That power has been given to you and I.

Why has it been given?

John 16:24 (Amplified Bible)24Up to this time you have not asked a [single] thing in My Name [as [a]presenting all that I AM]; but now ask and keep on asking and you will receive, so that your joy (gladness, delight) may be full and complete.

God wants your joy to be full!

When you get of hold of this it brings peace because you no longer sit and wonder if God heard you or if your prayer is going to be answered.

You know He heard you and is going to answer your petition because Jesus said He Would!

It’s as simple as that.

The faith life is not hard. It is easy.

So, the next time you pray in the Name of Jesus know you are not just reciting a religious slogan. You are speaking the Name that causes the Father to move on your behalf.

The Supernatural Life

The devil has done a great job of removing the supernatural aspect out of the Christian life.

He has conned many believers into believing the supernatural ministry died with the last disciple.

However, that is not what the Bible teaches. In fact, the opposite is true.

I guess the question we have to ask ourselves is are we going to believe however we want to believe or are we going to believe the Bible?

What did Jesus say?

John 14:12 (New King James Version) 12 “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.

It seems to me He was rather matter of fact about the believer’s ministry.

Notice His only criteria is he who believes.

Jesus plainly says believers will do the works of Jesus and even greater works.

What works did Jesus do?

Well, He preached and taught the Word. He fed the hungry. He healed the sick. He cast out devils. He raised the dead. He made the blind see. He prophesied.

“Well, Brother Mace that is not what He meant. I believe He was talking about just doing good works. You know, opening clinics in Africa and so on.”

Well, again let’s look to the words of Jesus Himself for clarity.

Mark 16:17-18 (New King James Version)17 And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; 18 they[a] will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

Are you a believer?

If so, Jesus is talking about you.

Again, Jesus is pretty clear what signs follow a believer.

Friend, The Word is a two-edge sword.

One side of the blade brings great blessing.

The other side brings judgment.

In other words, the Word we reject becomes our judge.

Accept the Word.

Trust what it says.

Walk in the light of the Word and you will have a supernatural ministry.

The world lost in darkness is depending on you.

Jesus Got 'Er Done

I know some folk that believe they have to say a certain amount of Hail Mary’s to get right with God.

Other folk I know think their Pastor must be more righteous than them because he reads his Bible more and prays more.

Still some take vows of poverty, abstinence (which you should if you are not married), and fast all in the hopes of making God like them.

Friend, Jesus already got ‘er done.

2 Corinthians 5:18 (New King James Version)18 Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation,

At the cross Jesus reconciled us once and for all through His shed blood.

All that is needed is faith.

You see, Jesus took your sin, which is what kept you and I out of fellowship with God. He took our sin and gave us His righteousness.

What a deal, huh?

2 Corinthians 5:21 (New King James Version)21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

If you sin you don’t have to beg, plead, cry and squawk for God to forgive you and love you.

Just ask for forgiveness right on the spot and that is it as far as God is concerned.

John 1:9 (King James Version) 9If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

“Mace, you make it to easy if we sin to get forgiveness.”

Nope, I didn’t make it easy.

God the Father did.

You just have to have faith in the finished work of Christ.

Jesus is the Source.

The cross is the means.Reconciliation with The Father is the result.
