The Word For The Day June 20

2 Timothy 4:3-4 (New King James Version)3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; 4 and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.

There are those that would say Paul needs to tone it down. That he is being negative.

Friend, we see this happening in our churches today. Unknown millions are going to hell because they are sitting under Pastors that feed them cotton candy because they can't stomach meat.

Cotton candy may taste good but if that is all you eat you will die.

We need to pray for a generation of preachers that are not ashamed to preach the Word, that are not afraid to offend with truth, and are not ashamed of the Holy Spirit and His baptism.

I believe God is raising up a remnant of preachers that are going to take a stand for the Cross in these last days. The devil will not have God's Church in the Name of Jesus!

The Word For The Day June 19

2 Timothy 4:1-2 (New King James Version) 1 I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at[a] His appearing and His kingdom: 2 Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching.

Let us pray for our Pastors and all those in the five fold ministry. Let us pray that they would never depart from preaching the Word of God. Let us pray that they will never water down the Word or mix it with human philosophies.

The devil is doing everything he can to stop the preaching of the Gospel. We must not let him stop the preaching and teaching of the everlasting Word of God!

The Word For The Day June 19

2 Timothy 3:17 (Amplified Bible)17So that the man of God may be complete and proficient, well fitted and thoroughly equipped for every good work.

You and I will never be equipped to complete our God given assignment without reading the Word of God. For it is in the Word that you will find the keys to overcoming the attacks of the devil.

It is in the Word you will learn your New Covenant rights and benefits.

It is in the Word you will find out healing was paid for you at the Cross.

It is in the Word you will find freedom from depression.

It is in the Word you will see it is God's will for you to prosper even in the midst of a recession.

It is in the Word you will see how God the Father looks at you.

It is all in the Word. So, open it up and start reading it, believe it and act on it. It will change your life forever.

The Word For The Day June 17

2 Timothy 3:16 (New King James Version)16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,

The Bible is the infallible Word of the Living God.

By feeding on the Word you profit your spirit man and your physical man.

Every area of life is covered in the Bible: Spirit, Soul and Body.

Other books may be God anointed to help the believer in his or her walk but the Bible is and always will be the foundation.

The Word For The Day June 16

2 Timothy 3:15 (New King James Version)15 and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

The Word "able" implies that it is not necessarily so. If I say I am able to give you ten dollars that does not mean that I am actually going to give you ten dollars. There may be conditions set.
For instance, I am able to pay my children an allowance every two weeks. However, if they don't do their part I am not going to give them the money, which is my part.
The Word of God is able to make each and every one of us wise, prosperous, victorious and healthy.

However, our part must be accomplished for the Word to do what God has said it will do. Our part is to read the Word, receive the Word by faith, and act on the Word.

It is doers of the Word that see the benefits of the Cross active in their lives.

Let's determine today to be doers of the Word and walk in the Lord's wisdom.

The Word For The Day June 11

2 Timothy 3:12 (New King James Version)12 Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.

The devil is always going to oppose those that are hindering his work. If you are not a problem to him the chances are he won't be to much a problem to you.

As long as the Lord tarries and we are alive on this earth we will have opportunities for faith.

Some would say we will always have problems. I believe the believer doesn't have a problem. What the world sees as a problem is and opportunity for us to exercise our faith and for God to show Himself.

Praise God!

The Word For The Day June 10

2 Timothy 3:10-11 (New King James Version) 10 But you have carefully followed my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, love, perseverance, 11 persecutions, afflictions, which happened to me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra—what persecutions I endured. And out of them all the Lord delivered me.

Very few in the Church's history have gone through what the great Apostle Paul went through.

He faced persecution from the Jews.

He endured shipwrecks, snake bites, and beatings.

He had been stoned, repudiated, and rejected.

But, notice the last sentence in today's scripture. The Lord delivered Paul out of every trial, tribulation, and obstacle. Not some but all.

We learn two truths from this statement.

1) The trials came from Satan and not from God. This is evident by the Word Delivered. It is not logical for God to deliver Paul from something God created. Jesus said a house divided against itself cannot stand. God is not working against himself. He is the deliverer of Satan's work.

2) No matter what the devil throws our way we can expect God to deliver us. We can expect it and not hope for it due to the fact that we are in Covenant relationship with Father God because of The Cross. That Covenant gives us the total backing of the throne room of Heaven. Now, that is shouting ground!

The Word For The Day June 9

2 Timothy 3:8-9 (New King James Version)8 Now as Jannes and Jambres resisted Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, disapproved concerning the faith; 9 but they will progress no further, for their folly will be manifest to all, as theirs also was.

Since the times of Moses there have been those that have opposed the Word of God.

Sometimes they are blatant and other times they sneak in through the backdoor.

Jannes and Jambres were the names of the magicians in Egypt who produced miracles in competition with Moses before Pharaoh.

These two men were able to do many of the same miracles that were done by God through Moses. However, in the end, their power was limited and defeated by the power of God.

Just like these two men there those that are performing miraculous signs and wonders but they are not of God. The fruit bears this out.

The fruit brings these individuals glory.

A miracle brought by the Holy Spirit will always without fail glorify Jesus Christ.

That is the simple test to see if something is from God or not. Is the sign and wonder causing the Church to press into Jesus and bring Him glory?

Or does it cause the Church to chase after a man or woman to get a touch of their glory?

The Word For The Day June 5

2 Timothy 3:5 (Amplified Bible)5For [although] they hold a form of piety (true religion), they deny and reject and are strangers to the power of it [their conduct belies the genuineness of their profession]. Avoid [all] such people [turn away from them].

There are untold multitudes of Churches that have wonderful religious services. They have wonderful sounding music. They have wonderful announcements. They have wonderful Pastors that tell funny stories and are entertaining.

But, really they are dead.

They deny and reject the power of God.

They reject and are ignorant of the Gifts of the Holy Spirit so how could they possibly experience His power?

Friend, the God of the Book of Acts did not retire. The Holy Spirit is still wanting to manifest in powerful ways in His Church.

Jesus still wants to baptize His Church in the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit still wants to manifest Himself in tongues, healings, miracles and all the other gifts of the Spirit.

What are we waiting for?

The Word For The Day June 4

2 Timothy 3:4 (Amplified Bible)4[They will be] treacherous [betrayers], rash, [and] inflated with self-conceit. [They will be] lovers of sensual pleasures and vain amusements more than and rather than lovers of God.

We love sports.

We love movies.

We love TV. We will program our DVR to tape a week's worth of programming to make sure we don't miss any of our favorite shows.

We love gossip sites and game shows.

But, do we love Jesus?

Is He an afterthought or the Lord of our thoughts?

Is He second fiddle or the Master Conductor?

These are serious times and we have to begin to ask ourselves serious questions. Is the Holy Ghost leading us or are our feelings?

Do circumstances dictate our faith or does the Word of God?

In order to have a victorious life we have to have the right answers to these questions.

The Word For The Day June 3

2 Timothy 3:2-3 (Amplified Bible)2For people will be lovers of self and [utterly] self-centered, lovers of money and aroused by an inordinate [greedy] desire for wealth, proud and arrogant and contemptuous boasters. They will be abusive (blasphemous, scoffing), disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy and profane. 3[They will be] without natural [human] affection (callous and inhuman), relentless (admitting of no truce or appeasement); [they will be] slanderers (false accusers, troublemakers), intemperate and loose in morals and conduct, uncontrolled and fierce, haters of good.

Oh my. It is terrible when these verses describe the world but it is even worse when it describes much of the Church.

Christian bookstores are fulll of books on self, how to love self, self self self.

Christian airwaves are crammed with those that have perverted God's true message of Biblical prosperity with pyramid type schemes.

Homosexuality is not only sanctioned in some churches but homosexuals are actually ordained. Some Choirs allow homosexuals to serve because after all, they sure can sing.

Friend, God's judgment will begin and has begun with the Church. If we don't get back to preaching the Cross and the power of the Holy Ghost God will have no choice but to clean house.

He will not allow a little leaven to spoil His Body.

The Word For The Day June 2

2 Timothy 3:1 (Amplified Bible) 1BUT UNDERSTAND this, that in the last days will come (set in) perilous times of great stress and trouble [hard to deal with and hard to bear].

Friend, I believe we are living in these very times.

Can you name another time in the history of the world where there has been so much stress on the nations.

Terrorism.

Credit Crisis.

Earthquakes.

Disease.

Tsunamis.

Tornadoes.

On and on it goes. But, thank God each and every one of these tribulations must bow down before the Name of Jesus!

There is coming a time when the Church will be raptured away. Thank God for that. But, in the mean time the Lord Jesus has given us His Name to use and He is the authority standing in back of it.

What are you doing with it? Are you using it or losing it?
